CHANGES TO OUR SERVICE
Following a re-model of carers' services in Hackney, from the 1st of October 2019, service delivery for carers will look different.
The London Borough of Hackney will be carrying out Statutory Carers' Needs Assessments and, in order to access one, adult carers should contact Carers FIRST on 0300 303 1555.
They will arrange an initial meeting to assess whether carers are eligible for an assessment with the London Borough of Hackney.
Carers FIRST will now be the first point of contact for adult carers in Hackney.
Please contact Carers FIRST on 0300 303 1555, or email them on hello@carersfirst.org.uk for a full range of services including a referral for a Carers' Needs Assessment, support groups, training, newsletter and access to grants.
For more information, you can visit them on their website: https://carersfirst.org.uk/hackney/
Many of the team members from City and Hackney Carers Centre will be moving over to work for Carers FIRST so carers can be assured of a friendly face when starting to use Carers FIRST services.
City & Hackney Carers Centre will continue to offer wellbeing and information services to carers registered with us including:
-
Advice and Information services for carers of adults and children
-
Brocals - a project for isolated men over 50yrs old
-
Carers Collective Hackney - Creative activities for carers aged 50+ and the people they care for
-
A Counselling and Coaching service open to all carers
-
The Dementia Discussions – an online support group and crisis planning service for carers of people with Dementia
