Parent Carers Project

Being a carer of a child with complex needs can be challenging. It can affect your relationships and leave you feeling overwhelmed, isolated and lacking in support. A survey conducted by CHCC in 2019 found that many Parent Carers felt vital support was missing for them as carers and for their families as a whole.

The Parent Carers Project aims to address some of these gaps, highlight the needs of Parent Carers and provide support through:

  • Peer support groups

  • Grant applications

  • Training and workshops

  • Specialist advice

  • Access to counselling and coaching

  • Access to employment, education and volunteering support

Our qualified worker will meet with you, assess your needs and develop a bespoke action plan taking into account the wider family system. We offer 4-6 sessions with one of our project workers and will make referrals into additional services to support you and your family.
